PHD | URBAN BEYOND HOUSEHOLD . Collective Infrastructure and Planning for more Equitable and Inclusive Cities. Maputo case (2021-...)

Milousa António

This research examines the contemporary production of urban collective infrastructures and services through a selection of
proximity services (socio-cultural, civic and recreation/leisure functions) in the “Maputo metropolitan area” aiming to
understand (1) relevant processes and practices transforming collective spaces, (ii) Key actors, their roles, and responsibilities,
and (iii) how such evidence can inform to urban planning and policies leading to greater spatial justice. Understanding  approaches and logic underlying service provision is relevant to potentially reverse socio-spatial inequalities, further knowledge
on the southern urban reality and contribute to theoretical reflection.
