The research focuses on socio-spatial impact of participatory approach in the intervention in the self-produced neighbourhoods of Greater Lisbon. Objectives: to deconstruct stereotypes about the self-produced city; to unveil types of interactions between the actors with an impact on the production and transformation of space and how; to understand if and how the actors interacting were transformed; to identify the impact of small participated local interventions and the role of the architect towards the building of a more dialogical, empow-ered, emancipated, inclusive, cohesive, just, qualified and sustainable city: a democra-city. Exploratory cases compared: Alto da Cova da Moura (Amadora), 2º Torrão and Terras da Costa (Almada) and Bairro da Cruz Vermelha (Lisbon). Study case: Bairro da Torre (Loures).
